Riverdales is the eponymously-titled debut studio album by the Chicago-based punk rock band the Riverdales. Formed after the break-up of Screeching Weasel, the band sought to write more Ramones-inspired music and the album was released on June 7, 1995 through Lookout Records with the catalog number LK 120. The group supported the album by opening for Green Day on the initial US leg of the tour for their album Insomniac

Tracks 1-15 recorded at Sonic Iguana, January 1995. Tracks 1-12 originally released as the "Riverdales" LP (Lookout! Records, 1995). Track 13 originally released as the B-side to the "Fun Tonight" 7" single (Lookout!

It was the first Riverdales album to be released through Recess, as well as their first album featuring second guitarist Simon Lamb. Ben Weasel has stated that "If had it way, Tarantula would have been part two of a double album with Invasion US. Tarantula is said to sound more "hardcore" due to the use of two guitars and features hard rock-styled guitar solos. After the album was recorded, Lamb left the band and was replaced by Drew Fredrichsen.

It's real. Overrun from the pressing plant. Apparently this sometimes happened w/ Lookout Releases (source: Chris Appelgren)

Never heard of one either. The rings on the label of the one pictured (not clearly) match the rings on the black pressing.Clear vinyl could always be a lathe cut, though. The photo looks legit. We need matrix photos to confirm.
