Jacintha - Here's To Ben album FLAC
Jacintha confuses raspy with singing softly. She and the producers would have been better served by presenting these songs as hers, not Webster's. The focus then would be where it belongs (. what she does with these classics). With excellent pitch, good diction, and sensitive interpretations of the lyrics, she makes these songs her own. One highlight is her a cappella treatment of "Danny Bo. Throughout the session, Jacintha receives solid support from veteran Teddy Edwards' blues-drenched saxophone (he's a lot closer to Webster than Jacintha is). He and Jacintha. Former Miles Davis pianist Kei Akagi is a capable accompanist. This album is a solid enough effort solely on the strength of Jacintha's natural talent. The obeisance to Webster was not only unnecessary, but distracting.

Here's To Ben: A Tribute To Ben Webster (2016). There are few voices so perfect that they seem suited to any type of music. Jacintha has such a voice. The Singapore-based vocalist is already known in her homeland as an actress and popular recording artist. In 1983, Jacintha released her debut album Silence. In the mid-1990s, actor Lim Kay Tong introduced Jacintha to Ying Tan, who signed her to his Groove Note label. Her first jazz album was released in 1998: Here's To Ben – A Vocal Tribute To Ben Webster.
Here's to Ben is the first release from a new record company, GrooveNote. This does not mean that we are talking about beginners here. Jacintha has an absolutely ravishing voice that's quite enough to make me melt and seep away. When she sings "Georgia on My Mind," "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," or "The Look Of Love," I simply have to surrender. Jacintha's voice just does this to me. The musicians here are real veterans in the most positive sense. Among them we find sax player Teddy Edwards, who since he recorded with Billie Holiday in the '50s has played on quite a few Blue Note recordings.
